Basics and Beginner Combinations Learn and review basic hip sways, undulation, figure 8, hip circle, hip thrusts, hip drops, and shimmies. Create simple combinations alternating between smooth and accented movements. Work on coordination by layering arms with simple movements.

- Show an actual performance of the dance.
- Introduce the building blocks needed for each combination.
- Teach the combinations one at a time.
- Practice the combination to a SLOW version of the drums.
- Practice the combination to the real version of the drums.
- Build on previous combinations until the dance is complete.
